I would recommend you to Finishing Touch in the Chicago area (see my previous post). Not cheap, but I've seen a lot of refinished tail panels, and the one they did was totally awesome. I have a restored tail panel on my car which is an 8 out of 10 points, but I'm still tempted to have them re-do it despite the price. It was that nice.
BTW, I have now been to 3 platers with tail panels - one refused to do it at any price, two ruined the panels I gave them, so don't even think about trying to get it done cheaply. These pieces are probably some of the most difficult to restore on any old car. You guys with your '66 models are lucky not to have one!
