I've always been impressed when I come across an antique car that has survived so many years under the ownership of one person. The car's history is known, the stories are many, and the bond between car and owner is unbreakable.
Because of that, I have tried to keep track of those 2+2's which are "Original Owner" cars.
Those I am aware of currently are:
Clint Alsbury - 1986 Grand Prix 2+2
Merle Austin - '66 conv.
Tom Bryte
Jack Felton
Ben Jackson
Mike Longo - '67 coupe
Bentley Martin
Bob Morrow
Dante Principe, Sr. - '65 coupe
Lawrence Sledge - '67 coupe
Bob Zupan
If I missed anyone, please let me know.
On a related note, I am chairing a committee of the Pontiac-Oakland Club International which is tasked with developing a special award to Original owners and their cars. The first such awards will be given out at the upcoming POCI Convention in Fort Worth, Texas, this July. If you are a member of POCI and have a Pontiac/Oakland or GMC vehicle (at least 25 years old) which you have owned continuously since new, please contact me so that I can send you an application for the award.
You deserve the recognition.
