Okay, guys & gals, if you're into '67 Pontiac's and don't mind a little work, this is the one to have!
I got a call today from Paul Sindle in Knoxville, TN. He is selling a '67 project car, in storage since 1986. According to Paul the car has the original motor w/4-speed in it. The engine suffered a bent rod in a drag race, but was completely rebuilt (.030 over bore) and has zero miles since. Engine starts & runs. Equipped with rebuilt factory disc brakes ( first year available - an option, I believe), and still has the original "disc brake" wheel covers, which Paul claims are very hard-to-find).
The car needs a new top, new upholstery, restoration of bright work. Solid floors & trunk, but some body rust ( probably needs a new right fender).
Reportedly this car was featured in a 1969 edition of "Hot Rod Magazine".
Asking price = $7000. Sounds reasonable, considering the engine/trans is worth that much.
This is a rare car. According to my records Pontiac only made 1768 2+2's. Of these only 137 were convertibles w/manual transmission, and only 144 total (coupe & convertible) had the H.O. motor w/4-speed.
Here are figures for currently registered cars:
30 1967 cars total (13 convertibles, 17 coupes)
12 originally HO motor-equipped
7 originally HO motor w/4-speed (4 convertibles, 3 coupes)
